The AstroPhoto challenge is intended as friendly competition among astrophoto enthusiasts to share your best picture or pictures with a great community of people, to be recognized and to possibly win some great awards!
We want to make this as fair as possible for everyone, so if you feel like you need to express a comment or suggestion, please do so by email us at notify@lxd55.com

Here are the rules

You may only use LXD55 equipment. This means an entire LXD55 setup or a partial LXD55 setup. It can be a mixed pair of LXD55 mount with a different OTA or a LXD55 OTA with a different mount, but it must have one of these two items in the mix to qualify for the contest.

Be honest! This system is built on the honor system. Meaning if you say you took a picture with LXD55 equipment, then we are going to believe you. Please make this fair.
If we gain knowledge and verify that you are breaching this rule, the picture and other entrees of yours will be removed and your account possibly revoked.

There is a maximum of one prize per person.

Photos will be judged fairly, by a panel of photography and astronomy experts, with no discrimination towards sex, race, or age. Decisions are final.

By submitting a picture for entry you are granting LXD55.com permission to publish the photo, name and photo method on the LXD55.com web site and any additional publications announcing winners.

Winners will be notified by email within 1 week of judging decision

Employees of LXD55.com. and their families are not eligible to participate.

Prizes are based on availability and are subject to change. If this should happen, we will substitute with a similar item at equal value.

The information you submit to the LXD55.com Astrophoto Challenge Contest will not be shared with third parties.

LXD55.com Astrophoto Challenge is not responsible for photos that are lost or damaged. In the event your photo is damaged or lost online, you can re-submit it to us for approval.

Entries received after the deadline will not be submitted for voting.

Entry form is valid only when $5 (per photo) entry fee is paid in full.

Entries are limited to one picture per catagory per email address. No picture may be entered into multiple catagories. An Entry fee is required for each submission.

The competition is open to beginners,amateurs and professionals.

Entries may be color or black and white digital photos taken with CCD imagers of any kind or digital scans, or film images.. Scans should be no larger than 800 by 600 pixels at 72 dpi. and no smaller than 640 by 480 pixels at 72 dpi.

Eligible photos should be no more than 3 years old.

You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all photos entered. Images must not have been digitally altered in any way other than necessary burning, dodging and cropping, or stacking.

All entries received must have a valid email address.

Winners will be notified by the email address given with the entry form. If winner fails to respond to winning notification within 1 week of the winners announcement, they will be disqualified and an alternate entry selected.
